Is it so hard to do online marketing? I suppose there are constraints and things to do as is normal with everything else. I think the problem has more to do with structure and planning. I really have no plan, no blueprint. I just go as I please and hope that something good comes out of it.

This is a very random, very unsure, very unstructured way of doing things. Still, I believe that there will be lessons to be learned from this.

I am such a newbie when it comes to Online marketing. I thought it would be easy to do online marketing after all, it was the internet, right? Well, not completely right. Even if you have a website you still need to have people come to your website in order to make a purchase.

The Internet has changed the way that people live and do business. Take the case of advertising. More and more businesses are taking their message online and this has become a source of needed information for people who need the products and services being promoted on the Internet. Take the case of a person needing to find out where he can buy some plastic products. This might be a simple thing for people to figure out, go to the mall, surely there are stalls there that sell plastic. That is easy enough to do if one just needs plastic. What if one needs a few things more exotic than plastic products? Would he have to go to several places to find out the best deal on the things that he has in his mind to buy?

Consider a website that caters to local needs. That website might have a database of different cities or localities so it can cater to very specific needs of people in specific localities. Next to this database would be a database of products organized into different categories and the vendors who offer those products at the prices they specify. Therefore, for a person who needs something, he  would simply need to select his locality and the product that he needs whereupon a list of stores or vendors would be presented along with the prices that they charge for such a product. That would be wonderful indeed for both the seller and the buyer as it targets very specific needs and an implicit transaction is entered into when the buyer decides to buy the product from this particular vendor.

I remember last year when I joined a text link ad exchange. I cannot remember the name of the site now and my website that I joined with is now defunct. The registrar of my now expired domain  keeps sending me emails asking me to renew the registration and I have decided to just let it be one for the books. The reason I remember that site is because when I checked the stats for that site, I had a lot of backlinks and I suspect that it might be due to this ad exchange that I joined.

So I looked around for a similar ad exchange but I have not located that exchange. I am tired of joining the usual traffic exchanges where I have to click on website urls to earn views on my own. This just does not do it for me. There must be a better way of doing it and I am determined to find it. There was one exchange which opened a few months back. i did not join because I did not have a website that was suitable for it. I hear that it is doing very well now for the people that joined but there is a fee involved and I am wary of those things since I have nothing to sell. I just want my website to rank high in the search pages. Who can blame me? I just want what every webmaster wants.
